Beaky Malone: Worst Ever School Trip

by Barry Hutchinson

It’s been ninety-two hours since I last told a lie. Before that I was something of a lying expert, but everything changed when I stepped inside the world’s only truth-telling machine.

Now I can’t utter so much as a tiny fib. This is bad enough on a normal day but we’re off on a school trip to Thrillworld and I’ve been partnered with Wayne—the school bully and things get even more difficult!

Full of humour, with brilliantly depicted characters and wonderfully comic illustrations will guarantee to keep even the most reluctant of readers entertained!

I think this book is really funny as a school goes to a place called learning land instead of a theme park and a boy gets puked on by a little girl.I My favourite part was when Beaky’s sister had to forge a signature onto a permission slip.I would definitely recommend this book to others.

This was a good book, my favourite part was when Beaky was trying to write the fake signature but he couldn’t because he had been put into the machine in the last book. I also liked it when on the bus Beaky showed the whole class what Wayne was really like. I think lots of other people will like this book too.

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!!! It is very funny because they were meant to go to a theme park but instead they went to Learning Land and Beaky was partnered with the school bully. The school bully was super frightened to go there because there was a clown called Clumso the clown and he was scared of clowns ( he wet him self in year 6 when the clown came to his school) . The funniest bit for me was when they were on the really fast car ride and 3 people vomited on him. Totally recommend this book to anyone… Read more »

WARNING!! THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! This is about a man who tells lies all the time and ate a giraffe. No it isn’t! it’s about a boy called Dylan Malone(but others call him Beaky). This is a very exciting book, which would leave you thinking what you would do yourself (a bit like Diary of a Wimpy Kid), and it always gives you that sinking feeling near the end of the book E.G he found Madame Shirley (who he was searching for) as his bus was leaving the car park where she was standing! how sad is that? (very). Anyway, back to… Read more »

We enjoyed the humour in this book, particularly Wayne being scared of clowns. Dylan couldn’t put it down and read it in 3 days! The story felt a bit rushed and copied off Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Tom Gates and seemed as though he just kept getting into trouble over and over again. A nice light read for Year 6 (9-11) when you don’t need to think very hard

I liked how it told a story in a funny. It made me laugh because of what he did in the story. I would definitely recommend it to children over the age of seven.

This wasn’t by type of book but I still really enjoyed it. It’s incredibly funny and it’s not a very long book either. I finished this in about 2 hours. I would rate this book 3.7 stars

I didn’t really like this book because I think it lacked action. Wayne the tough guy hated the clown, they went to a learning park instead of a theme park. Overall, it was boring for me. His dog ate his homework is the classic book. He wasn’t able to lie because a crazy old person put ‘im in a box of truth. I hope ye have enjoyed. Thank ye

Beaky Malone is a good book, though very different to Jake Atlas as Jake Atlas is an adventure book . I enjoyed reading this book because it is funny and silly, I recommend it. Amy H

This book was alright, at the start it was a bit boring but it got better as you went on. I would rate this book about 6 out of 10. It is a bit of a marmite book, some could like it and some might not, I personally am in the middle of liking it and hating it. LS

Beaky Malone is very funny and has a lot of comedy in. There are lots of favorite bits in it and you can’t decide which bit is your favorite – Clumso the clown was very had a very funny but scary personality as he gets beat up by the ‘school bully’. The adventure in the book is very good and it is a great story to read is u like book s that are funny and always have a disaster to come.It is a very funny book and i liked it very much when he finds out he’s not going… Read more »

This book is very funny. I like it because it is funny ,I like the setting in Learning Land and that Wayne is scared of Clumso (The Clued Up Clown). I like that Wayne got vomited over him and that he fell into the water when they were chasing Madame Shirley.
I would give this an 8/10 because it is funny. I would recommend it to people who ask me.
