Hello and welcome to Spellbinding 2024, Cumbria’s Book Award for secondary students. Spellbinding gives hundreds of KS3 pupils each year the opportunity to read their way through ten shortlisted titles and vote for their winner. This year once more the titles have been chosen in partnership with students and librarians from local schools all over Cumbria.
Through Spellbinding students will have the opportunity to read a wide variety of authors and genres aimed at Years 7-9 and can use this website to post comments and thoughts on the books. They can share their views with other students from all the different schools taking part, as well as voting for their favourite.
The Award runs through the Spring and Summer terms and as the Award progresses there will be competitions and contributions from the authors, culminating in an Awards Day in June when the winner will be announced.
We have had some amazing winners in the past and we think this year promises to be no different.
Please contact us to add your details to our mailing list for your opportunity to take part!
Voting opens on 20 May and closes on Friday 7 June.
