Animalcolm

by David Baddiel

Malcolm doesn’t like animals, which is a problem because his family love them. Their house is full of pets. What the house is NOT full of is stuff Malcolm likes, such as the laptop he wanted for his birthday.

The only bright spot on the horizon is the Year Six school trip, which Malcolm never thought his parents would pay for. And yet there he is, on the bus, heading to…oh no. A farm. Over the next days, Malcolm changes. He learns a lot about animals. More, in many ways, than he would like.

He learns what it’s really like to be an animal. A whole series of animals, in fact…It does make him think differently. And speak differently. And eat differently. And, um, smell differently. But will he end up the same as before? Because sometimes the hardest thing to become is…yourself.

I enjoyed reading this book because it was funny and interesting. My favourite part of the book was when Malcolm turned into his first animal because I didn’t expect him to transform into a tortoise. All the way through the book there were cliff-hangers to wait until you read the book next. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes funny and intriguing books.

When Malcolm speaks to K-Pax it is very interesting how he says that he can’t understand why he doesn’t like animals like other people do. When he had been an animal for a few days, he seems to turn the table and change his mind.
The humour was so exiting!

I did not enjoy the book ๐Ÿ™ because it wasn’t funny and did not have much comedy in it.

It is a hilarious book and I personally love it. My favourite part was the part when he turned into a cat and felt relieved that he could be able to actually move more quickly than a tortoise. I also liked the part when he found out that he could control it.

this book was very funny and every chapter ended in a cliffhanger so i couldnt wait to find out what happens next. it was funny because he kept on changing appearences but didnt figure out that if he didnt sleep near anyone or near a human he would turn back into a human.

This a super brilliant book ,however it got quite predictable near the end but that didn’t stop me from loving it throughout the whole of it! I highly recommend this book to all others interested in it as I could not put it down, it was so intriguing! It might look as if this book is too long but really the text is decently sized and there is a picture roughly every 5 pages, which I found rather useful and nice to stop and look at! READ THIS BOOK IF YOU DONT YOUR MISSING OUT!!!!!

I thought animalcolm was amazing because I love animals and it was a really good storyline, my favourite part was when Malcolm got a chinchilla for his birthday and when he became a chinchilla but chinny spoke Spanish. Altogether I thought this was a really good book and I would definitely recommend this to my friends I would give this book 4 and a half out of five.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it’s a funny fantasy story and I loved it! It’s about a boy called Malcom who doesn’t like animals, but as his parents, his sister and other family like them, his house is full of them! But when Malcom goes on a school trip to a farm, some interesting things start happening! Amy

I really liked this book. My favourite part is when he turns into all the animals on the farm. This is my best ever book I have read so far. I love the part when Malcolm turns into a pigeon and flies to his chinchilla to ask for help, the picture is super cute as well. I would recommend it to anyone who likes animals and adventures. I will give it 10/10.
