Who Let the Gods Out

by Maz Evans

Poor Elliot is having a very tough time. His mum is poorly, they have serious money problems, a devilishly devious interfering neighbour and school is quite simply a complete nightmare! So the last thing Elliot needs is for a conceited constellation to crash land smack, bang in the middle of his cow shed.

Suddenly feisty, fearless Virgo  enters his life with ‘a damp, loud splat.’ Together they manage to set free a dangerous and incredibly evil Daemon of Death and before long it is down to Elliot to save the world. As if he didn’t have enough on his plate!  A top end read perfect for those who enjoy Percy Jackson.

Hi, Teacher at Castle Carrock here – read this as my first book at the weekend and really enjoyed it. I thought the storyline was predictable – but I didn’t think that was a bad thing. The book moved fast and it had plenty of humour in it. Without giving away the plot I really do think it’s like a modern fairy tale! I can’t wait to hear what you all make of it!

I really enjoyed this book because of the action and the funniness. My favorite part was on page two when it said all the rumors about Call Me Graham and why he was so scared of everything. My favorite rumor was the ‘his wife hadn’t left him.I like the twists in it such as Zeus getting married, how the immortal bus driver was talking to Elliot and Virgo when they were they were trying to find Thanatos, then when the get of Thanatos gets on at the next stop. Patrica Horse’s Bum is the evil villain who wants to sell… Read more »

I really liked this book and I could find some links to harry potter I recommend this to year 5 6. i found it interesting because of all of the sarcasm and it was hard to pick up the names of all the characters at the start.

we read this book as a class, and I personally think that is was really good! At the start of the book there was quite a few Gods with unusual
names that were hard to remember, but as the book went on I gradually got used to all of the new names and the book also got better.
The book is interesting and funny. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the ‘who let the Gods’ out series.

Who let the gods out, is an awesome book! It was my favourite spellbinding book, I’ve read so far! I loved reading it! It’s funny and a really good read. My favourite part was when the gods disguised themselves as Richard M Trumpington who is the only person the body guard can let in the house. Then more then one Richard M Trumpington goes past him and he says good morning to them all! He thinks he’s going mad! Amy
